Commitment to Excellence
I was born with a drive to succeed. I was the first born in a household of 4 siblings. Early in life I learned to observe the continuous development of my surroundings and viewed the results of good and bad choices of myself and others. I immediately pinpointed those persons in the world that exceeded excellence. I have wanted to be nothing but successful when I realized how far I could go in life. I began to realize all the potential within me and how fate equipped me with the experiences to follow my dreams of success. I believe that when we invest ourselves completely and wholeheartedly into what we desire, success is inevitable. I define excellence as striving to be the best in every situation. And, if not the best then utilizing 100% of yourself. Excellence is the risky, innovative, confident, efforts in hard work. The key to excellence is a commitment to self, finding the way to work with all the attributes that make you who you are. The result of trying to be the best will then be a self-perfecting process. Excellence is only achieved when improvement is apparent, and pleasing yourself is top priority. Excellence is also a commitment to a cause. One important ingredient is to be humble, understanding that the results of your hard work represent a history and heritage. This will be evident when you have reverence for where your cultural roots are and the historical background of all who exceeded excellence before you. Their commitment to excellence created a path for your success. The best indication of your commitment to success is how others remember interacting with you and how much you have influenced the world.

how to survive life?- I agree with everything I am about how you view success. I believe that everyone is born with dreams. Dreams that are given to us by our creator and placed in our hearts. For me, the heart is where the soul is and answers when arises the question "what do you want to do with your life?" just like you mentioned in your observation, watching those around you and finding out what actions correspond to the right path for you, this is how we measure our excellence. You know if you've practiced enough or if that new job you thought was going to change your life is really worth it. so I do agree that success is self-measured. For me, society is an organization that does not want me to win and does not believe in me. That's why it is pertinant that I surround myself with those who believe in me so that when I loose faith, they can remind me why I fight so hard for what I do because it is a fight and it is not easy, but that is why it is worth so much more.
Mallory,
You are right it is very important to surround ourselves with positive people who can bring the best out of ourselves. However I do believe it is more important to be self-motivated, even during hardship. You got to be able to get back up on your own because friends may not be able to support you all the time.
Thank you!
Succeess's ingrediants are impenetrable faith, support from those who believe in you, and giving your everything to what you believe in. I began to realize how all my experiences connect like puzzle peices to deliver my dreams. I am a professional dancer, choreographer, and model, and this is how I live my life. Cedric, I see that you are on the right path and motivated to reach your dreams. I believe in you.
Hey, Cedric
I do not know you much but I remember how I found out about you. You were on the FSU website once for your achievements. I clicked on the link out of curiosity and after I read your story I visited your website to post my impressions. You replied to me right away and I could tell you are an approachable person. Then I met you I believe a couple of times and that's it. But despite the fact I do not know you well I can tell that you are a very self-motivated, disciplined and ambitious in a positive way person. It seems you have gone through a lot before getting to where you are right now, which seems quite an accomplishment. There are not many people like you around me though most of my friends are pretty hard-working and determined. However, you have something more than this and it is your clear understanding of who you are, what your potential is and what you want to do with it. Although you are a lil younger than me, I can definitely look up to you. Your writings inspire me not to give up ( I never do but we all go through some challenges ). You seem to be a great person and I am sure you will keep the great work going. So I do not need to wish you success as you are the epitome of it. I admire you and I am glad I know of you, though not much but enough to know that nothing is impossible.
Thank you for being such an inspiration…
Lora,
Thank you very much for your encouraging words. I am glad I was able to inspire you. I love your commitment to the African cause. So many people are not aware of how bad the situation is out there. I really appreciate your hard work.
Please keep me posted!
Thank you!
