So here it is… I lost my title of Swiss Champion of the 100 meters. I had a season plagued with injuries so it was hard for me to defend my title. I am glad I still managed to place despite my injury (inflammation of the tendons behind both my knees). I am happy with my performance as nobody believed I could make it to the final. Today my legs weren’t in the best of shape but my mental was on point. My mental overcame my injury. I was in pain and people around me could tell that something was wrong but i had no intention on giving up. I was not going to loose my title without a fight. I gave these guys a hard time. I dominated the major part of the race and then they came back on me during the last 40 meters.
I plan on training hard for the next few weeks and competing till September. I want to finish this season in beauty…
Let’s get it!!!
Usually when people say “I’m back” it means they are back at their top shape… Well it’s not the case here. I’m back on this blog but as far as track goes, my injury (torn hamstring in February 2010) really slowed me down. I was in tip top shape before getting injured. I worked hard to get back on a decent shape but this wont be enough to take over the world this track season. I still plan on participating at the Swiss Championships but I’m not expecting anything crazy out of it. Just going out there to have fun and it will be a great opportunity to go on a little road trip with my daughter. I haven’t seen her in months so it will be great to spend time with her.
At the time I am writting this post it is 3:35 am… I know it’s kind of late or too early but i couldn’t sleep so I decided to get back on here. The good news is that i got a new phone: the Samsung Galaxy S. It is amazing. I am actually writting this and posting it through my phone. I decided to break up with Blackberry (or take a break) and give a try to Droids. So far I am loving it.
What else is new? Hmmm I no longer work for Deloitte&Touche and I am looking for opportunities to become rich let’s say in the next few weeks (or now if you have a plan for me). I don’t know quite yet what the future has in store for me but I know that no matter what I will be successfull.
I guess I should try to sleep now since I am heading to Lugano (Italian part of Switzerland) tomorrow for the Swiss Championships. I will try to hold on to my Swiss Champion title for another year. It wont be easy but I’ll do my best.
Anyway I will keep you posted.
Take care!
First I want to wish all my readers a Happy New Year and wish you all the best for 2010. May this year be the most successful and productive one.
During the fall, I trained harder than I ever did before. It was tough as I am working full time as a consultant but I managed to get good base training. I believe it will pay off in due time. Because of the cold weather I haven’t been able to do as many speed workouts as I wanted to but the good news is the good weather is coming back. I am a little behind as far as speed work but I will work hard to catch up and get ready for World Indoor Championships (March 14th – Doha, Qatar). This year I plan on focusing more on the 200M as I believe it will help me with my 100M race. I am planning on competing a few times here in the US before heading to Europe mid-February to compete in the Indoor Swiss Championships and Indoor World Championships.
Note: My business partner (M. Fingado) and I recently launched the Notelog (www.notelog.com). This tool has a lot of potential. Please check it out and provide me with feedbacks.

I am back from Berlin, Germany. I had a great time hanging out with my athlete’s friends. I know I didn’t perform as well as I wanted to but I believe the lack of experience and training played a big role in my poor performance (10.51 – 5th in the 12th heats of the 100M) . I remain positive, and I know that my time will come. I just have to be patient and train harder. A lot of people expected me to be part of the Swiss 4x100M relay but the Swiss sprint coach felt like it was better not to include me in it. I do feel very fortunate to have made it this far. I am aware that many athletes dream of making it to the World Championships. My season is not over yet. I plan on running the 100M this Friday at the Zurich Weltklasse, one of the biggest track meet in the world. I wont be running in the 100M “A” race but most likely the “C” race.

Thank you all for your support during the World Championships. I really appreciated it. Special congratulation to Mickael Hanany (5th in the final of the High Jump) and Charles Clark (6th in the final of the 200M). Here are some pictures taken during the Championships:
